rené klimaczewski a.k.a. klima is well-known for his collaborations with artists like converter and architect; he also made well-approved remixes (for displacer, for example) along with supporting young upcoming performers like demian, rdr a.k.a. raw state and denizchador on his label kellermusik, which started seven years ago.

by chance, on a trip to new york city in 2007, he became acquainted with dave kean - an inspirational character and a non-musician with a twisted mind, who left klima stunned with a multiplicity of ideas and extraordinary creative urges. kean became the muse for a new-born named exocet and this album is the first result of this artistic insemination.

So. Exocet. The promo letter says "perfect balance between technoid complexity and industrial roughness, spliced into a single unit by accomplishing usage of well-structured rhytmic work, fortifying bass pulses and diversified synth chords"... Could I describe it better? Propably not.

I mean... That's exactly what you get with this album. "Technoid" complexity and industrial roughness. It's rough, allright. "Violation" sounds like the soundtrack to a dead planet, bringing you harsh and complex sounds of... What could I say? You know the Fallout games? "Violation" is a lot like Fallout's soundtrack. With it's desperate approach towards a dead earth, it sounds amazingly desolate, unique, and brutal in ways which you just cannot describe. "Violation" has the atmosphere of a planet that's dead for years, hoping to please it's only inhabitant. Well thought, clear sounding brutal industrial shit. Some of the samples remind me of the C64 era with their primitiviness. Mostly the material presented here could be considered a mix between gabber and dark ambient and breakcore.

Imagine a world without other people. Imagine it real hard. Imagine that you were alone, but you knew there was someone, in your sick and twisted self-proclaimed universe, in the deep dark wastelands, creating terrifying musical material for that one person to enjoy. You will get Exocet. I will never use the word "desolate" after this review again. Exocet will bring you to a mind trip, even without drugs. Let the deep bass samples succumb you into... Nothingness. Enjoy the sheer brutality of it. Just... Imagine being alone. Imagine the world without everyone else. Then get drunk and listen to this CD. You will be fucked by it's intensity.

I shall enjoy this CD in my drunken era and live long enough to tell my kids about it.
